The Archer County Sheriff’s Office announced that it carried out three simultaneous raids Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. The raids netted nine arrests as part of a year-long investigation into illegal gambling and money laundering.
ACSO collaborated with several other agencies in the operation, including WFPD, Texas DPS, Archer City PD, the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife and the 97th District Court.
At one of the raids, just off Highway 281, ACSO deputies put at least two people in handcuffs before a WFPD K9 unit arrived on the scene and investigated a nearby trailer. A game warden was also on the scene at that location.
