Timothy Lee was targeted by a New South Wales Police operation that had uncovered a syndicate of British people who were allegedly importing millions of dollars worth of ecstasy and cocaine into Australia.
Lee, who has dual Australian and British citizenship, is the sixth person to be arrested since the investigation started in 2006.
In that time, officers say they have also seized $30 million worth of drugs and more than $200,000 in cash.
Lee was arrested in Denpasar, Bali in January with the help of Interpol, more than two years after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was charged with supplying a commercial quantity of drugs and money laundering after being flown into Sydney this morning.
Lee will appear in court later this month.
